BLOG 5 - Changes To My Study Programme

When I think about things I would change about my study programme a lot of things came to my mind, I'm already at my sixth year of university and the first thing is the lenght of the carreer, and it's a topic that is discussed a lot, the composition studies are too long, it's a 7 years carreer with a syllabus that could be improved to be shorter. There are a lot of classes that could be taken earlier, and that is another topic I would like to talk about. Some of the classes in the syllabus seem like they're scrambled, and that make the academic charge really heavy. In the first year of composition we have 3 or 4 different classes, and in the fourth year we have 8 or 9 different classes. Fourth and fifth year are the more difficult because of the academic charge. Also a lot of the classes are necessary to be taken earlier, like didactics, because a lot of us make a living doing particular classes. Other big problem the university have is the infrastructure, the faculty i

BLOG 3 - My dream job

Since I was a child, the space and the stars were a big attraction to me, but unlike other kids I did not wanted to be an astronaut, I wanted to be an Astronomer, I wanted to observe the stars and the planets and make amazing discovering on them. My dream was to work at the ALMA (Atacama Large Millimeter Array). I never had a telescope but I used to have a logbook where I write all the things I observe in the night.  But as I grew up I lost interest in the space and I started gaining more interest in music, since I had a memory I always played the piano and the guitar, and when I was 14 my parents sign me up in an artistic school to potentiate my musical abilities. There I learned the piano and the drums, I even used to have a band in school and we played in various places, and finally in the composition classes in school I felt in love with music and the creative process of creating music.   After school I started a major in composition in the University of Chile and I hope to work i

BLOG 2 - The Best Concert/Holiday Ever

This year I begin to live a lot of new experiences, traveled and met new people. One of the first things it came to my mind for this blog was the time I went to the Womad Festival with my friends in Recoleta to see Juana Molina. I didn't know Juana Molina was coming to Chile until my friends told me so, and the entrance was free! The Womad Festival is some kind of international music festival with music from all around the world and Juana Molina was closing the day.   We went to recoleta around 6:30 hrs and we heard some of the shows, I remember watching a group of electronic music from Palestine that was really good, but unfortunately I don't remember their name. There was an Indian group that plays traditional music and they where really good. We didn't watch the whole show because we wanted to go to the stage where Juana Molina was playing early to be in the front. This was the first time in my life I went to a concert and I was at the front of the sta

BLOG 1 - A Country/Place I Would Like/Love To Visit

A place i would love to visit is the whole country of France, mostly because I'm really interested in their culture, with very rich architecture and gastronomy. I would love to visit their museums, Le Louvre, Le Petit et Le Grand Palais, Le Musée d'Orsay, Le Centre Cultural Pompidou etc. because they have some of the biggest collection on ancient and modern art in the world, works from Da Vinci, Manet, Basquiat, Gauguin, and many other I would love to see.    I wold also love to walk the streets of Paris to see the Haussmann architecture and city design, that is so characteristic of the city.   I'm also interested in the northern cities of France, I would love to visit Strasbourg, Metz, Calais, Amiens. Very ancient and beautiful cities with beautiful architecture.
